A two week break in Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands was just what my wife Liz and I needed to warm us up during a chilly and damp winter in north Wales.
Not that I've got anything against north Wales, the most beautiful place on earth, but sometimes a little winter sunshine is called for!
We know Gran Canaria quite well, having stayed a few times in years gone by, before Covid, so we were looking forward to re-visiting some favourite locations, and, hopefully, finding some new beauty spots as well.
One place that was definitely on our re-visit list was Puerto de La Aldea on the west coast.
This is a tiny little beach and harbour, much loved by the locals and a great place to watch a sunset from, being west facing.
So Liz and I spent a happy couple of hours here in the late afternoon and evening, strolling around the jetty before going back to our hire car for me to set up my camera and film this time lapse video of the sunset and dusk.
And then it was a night-time drive along the winding mountain roads to get back to our apartment at Taurito on the south coast.
