The beach at Amadores on the southwest coast of Gran Canaria is a sun worshippers hotspot, and in the heat of the day the sun loungers are draped in lotion lathered skin.
My wife Liz and I have zero interest in that sort of activity, but a visit to Amadores was high on our list of things to do.
The reason being that it's one of the best places on the island to catch a winter sunset out over the Atlantic ocean, with large palm trees creating that exotic holiday atmosphere set against a glowing orange sky.
So once the sun bunnies had packed up and gone home, freeing up some handy parking spaces in the process, Liz and I turned up, complete with picnic and camera gear, to enjoy the evening spectacle.
It's a real pleasure to be able to film while sitting on a bench overlooking the beach in the warm air, dressing in T shirt and shorts, rather than the full on survival gear you need for a winter seaside shoot in north Wales!
And those palm trees certainly let you know that you're in warmer climes than usual.
