Blue skies, sun kissed beaches, tropical heat warming your old bones?
If that's your idea of a good holiday then the northwest of Scotland in October is definitely not for you!
However, if, like my wife Liz and I, your idea of a worthwhile trip involves impressive scenery and dramatic weather, then this is just the place to be.
This time lapse video captures the view from the garden of our AirBnB in Aultgrishan, perched on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic ocean and the mountains of Skye along the far horizon.
It was approaching sunset as we watched in awe as sunbeams broke through the clouds, bathing the waters and mountains in searchlight beams of glowing light.
So with eyes streaming in the stiff onshore breeze and with my tripod firmly held down I watched and filmed for a good half hour until the light finally faded from the scene.
Now that's what I call a worthwhile holiday!
