After having spent two weeks in the October of 2022 exploring the dramatic landscapes of northwest Scotland, my wife Liz and I were loth to hurry back home, so we took a leisurely diversion across to the northeast coast, crossing border into England near Eyemouth and heading on down to Bamburgh in Northumberland.
The big draw of Bamburgh was the famous, and very photogenic, castle.
Perched on the edge of Bamburgh beach, this huge edifice dominates the surrounding area, no doubt as it was designed to do back 1,400 years ago when the orginal fortifications were constructed.
It was a lovely afternoon when we arrived and we spent a happy hour exploring the beach and extensive dunes, with me fianlly choosing this spot to set up my camera for a photoshoot.
With those clouds scudding by overhead, painting the dunes, beach and castle in a moving patchwork of sunlight and shadow, conditions were ideal for a time lapse video and I spent a lovely twenty minutes or so drinking in the scenery while my camera clicked away, recording the hundreds of still images needed to create just a few seconds of video.
Finally it was time to leave for the long drive back home to north Wales, satisifed in the knowledge that we'd rung the last ounce of enjoyment from our wonderful two weeks away.
