Heading back home to north Wales from a wonderful two weeks spend exploring the beauties of northwest Scotland in the October of 2022, my wife Liz and I decided to take the scenic route.
This involved crossing the country from west to east, and driving down the east coast of Scotland and England, taking in some of the places we'd always wanted to see.
The location we were most looking forward to visiting was Bamburgh, on the coast of Northumberland.
With its huge beach, dune system and iconic castle perched close to the sea, Bamburgh is a photographer's dream.
So while Liz went beachcombing I set about finding a suitable location to photograph and film the castle.
In the end I chose this spot, in amongst the dunes with the castle in the background, giving me plently of foreground interest and an obvious focal point for my composition.
And all too soon it was time to pack the camera gear away for the final time on this holiday and settle down for the long drive home, happy to have finally seen one of our 'bucket list' locations.
