One of the loveliest locations on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, just off the North Wales coast, is Church Bay (or Porth Swtan to give it its welsh name).
Church Bay is a small coastal village with a magnificent sandy beach, backed by cliifs comprised of a golden coloured rock which glows in the light of the setting sun.
As as it's west facing, Church Bay is an excellent location to view the sunset from.
Not only is the beach full of interesting rocks that catch the sunlight, but the quality of the light itself, out over the Irish Sea, has a clarity and colour that is hard to match.
So it's not unusual to find my wife Liz and I on the beach at Church Bay in the hour either side of sunset, me being laden down with a full camera kit and tripod to catch the sunset in a time lapse video.
This particular evening on May 2023 proved to be especially lovely, with a clear sky which gave a view of the sunset right down to the far horizon.
So we made the most of the evening, staying long after the sun had dipped into the sea, to watch and film the dusk sky as the warm colours of twilight slowly faded from the scene.
And then for the gentle drive back home along the north Wales coast, taking in more lovely views as we headed back east.
