I'm really blessed to live right next to the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in North Wales, so whenever the fancy takes me I can jump in the car and in ten minutes I'm looking at stunning views out over the welsh countryside.
Which is just what I did on this particular afternoon in early January 2022.
With a nice looking sky close to sunset I climbed up the limestone escarpment at the Loggerheads Country Park and set up my camera to catch the sunset out over the hills of the Clywdian Range to the west.
The sunset itself wasn't particularly inspiring, with a bank of cloud blanketing the hills, but just after the sun disappeared behind Foel Fenlli a wonderful display of sunbeams burst forth over the landscape.
So it was game on, and I quickly set my camera off recording the hundreds of still images needed to create this time lapse, featuring those dramatic rays of sunlight tracking upwards across the heavens.
All too soon the show was over, with just a narrow strip of glowing light in the clouds above the Clwydians, and it was time to pack away and head back down to my car for the drive home.
Still, those few minutes of light play were well worth the effort to see.
