Clwydians Sunset Timelapse #5

The story behind this video

The early spring of 2022, towards the end of March, has been an amazing time for me photographically, with a high pressure system firmly rooted over northern Europe bringing stable weather conditions across the normally turbulent North Wales skies.

The third week in March is also one of the two times of year that the sun will set over the slopes and summit of Moel Famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) near my home in Northeast Wales, which is crowned by the ruined stump of the once much taller Jubilee Tower.

So every evening this third week in March, around teatime, I've been found on the limestone escarpment at Loggerheads Country Park, giving me this amazing view westwards towards the Clwydian Range and the setting sun.

Each evening the sunset has crept a little further northwards towards the Jubilee Tower, with this particular evening's sunset event occuring almost behind the silhouette of the tower itself, with some lovely wispy clouds floating by to add a warm colour wash to the skies over the rolling hills.

I'm just so blessed to be able to see and film such beauty so close to home, and I'm hoping to catch the sun setting right behind the Jubilee tower in a couple of evenings' time, if the weather holds up!
