The ever changing weather over North Wales provides us outdoor photographers with opportunities to capture the same view again and again, but each time with different clouds, lighting, sunset angle and so on.
And living in such a beautiful and varied part of the world, how could I not take advantage of what lies on my doorstep?
What actually lies on my doorstep is the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), a wonderland of mountains, forests, hidden valleys and so on, which I can easily drive to whenever the mood and the weather takes me.
My wife Liz and I decided to come here to the slopes of Moel Famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range, to catch the sunset one lovely evening in late May 2022.
We come here to watch the skies quite regularly as an after tea treat, and of course I have my camera with me, ready to capture the hundreds of still images required to make just a few seconds of time lapse video.
On this occasion we were treated to a view of the sun playing hide and seek behind a band of low cloud as its golden orb slowly dropped towards the silhouette of the western slopes of Moel Famau.
And no doubt we'll be here again, watching and enjoying the same, but different, scenery.
How blessed we are to live in such a beautiful part of God's creation!
