There are some wonderful driving roads through the landscapes of north Wales, and one which my wife Liz and I enjoy travelling very much is the A543 that runs between the county town of Denbigh and Pentrefoelas on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park.
This route takes you high over the Denbigh moors, through some of the most desolate and beautiful scenery the north Wales has to offer.
Sandwiched between the mountains of Snowdonia to the west, and the Clwydian Range to the east, the Denbigh moors are a natural wonderland, but usually quite wet and cloudy.
However, on this particular day in September 2022 the sun was shining and light cumulus clouds were blowing over the landscape below, casting a moving patchwork of sunlight and shadow on the golden grasses of the moors.
Absolutely entrancing, so, having found a convenient layby I set my camera and tripod up to record the scene as this time lapse video, capturing hundreds of still images as the clouds rolled by overhead, just to create a few seconds of video.
And then it was back in the car and onto further beautiful scenery in the Snowdonia National Park before dropping down in to Caernarfon for a bite to eat and then heading home along the north Wales coast.
Now that's a way to spend an afternoon!
