When Liz and I decide to have a day out, one of our favourite things to do is to drive across the Denbigh Moors, a high altitude wilderness that is absolutley beautiful, when it's not raining/foggy/blowing a gale!
Such was the case on this afternoon in late July 2023, with summer cumulus clouds drifting lazily over the landscape, casting patches of sunlight and shadow over the landscape below.
We took a winding side road that lead us past a couple of tiny reservoirs, and as we were driving along I spotted this lonely hawthorne tree, somehow surviving the harsh conditions.
With the rolling moors in the background and clouds drifting by overhead I just couldn't resist pulling into a convenient layby to photograph the scene.
A few still images soon turned into a time lapse shoot, with twenty minutes of continuous clicking as my camera recorded the hundreds of files needed to create this few seconds of video.
It just goes to show you never know what you might find around the next bend!
