The rugged atlantic coastline of northwest Scotland isn't a place you would normally consider for a holiday in October, but my wife Liz and I aren't your usual holidaymakers.
We're more interested in seeing magnificent scenery and dramatic light than lying on a crowded beach somewhere, So the scottish coast and highlands were just made for us.
We ended up at an AirBnB overlooking the ocean just a short drive from the small seaside town of Gairloch, and it was from a beach nearby that I captured this time lapse video of the sun setting over Longa Island, just off the coast.
With broken cloud cover over the horizon, allowing beams of golden sunlight to play across the scene, this was a wonderful way to start our two weeks in this wild and beautiful land.
