Nestled on the altantic coastline of northwest Scotland, this is the view overlooking the seaside town of Gairloch.
My wife Liz and I spent an amazing two weeks exploring this part of the world in October 2022, taking in the rugged coastline, big mountains and dramatic lochs.
It being October in northwest Scotland, the weather was somewhat mixed, which suited us just fine, enjoying views of the stunning scenery under ever changing lighting conditions.
And, of course, being west facing, we had great views out over the ocean to the Isle of Skye and beyond at sunset, so every day in the late afternoon we would head out to a different vantage point to see what would unfold.
Which is how we ended up in this viewpoint car park above Gairloch, watching and filming the light show as the sun sank slowly though wracks of cloud to its final resting place over the horizon at the end of another day.
Not a bad way to draw the day to a close before heading back to our AirBnB for the evening.
