Of the many ports that Liz and I sailed into during our cruise around the western Mediterranean during the October of 2023, the approach to Genoa, right on the north coast of Italy, must have been the most interesting.
The colourful old buildings of the town extended right down to the harbour waterfront and we had a great view from the balcony of our cabin, high up above the sea on the thirteenth deck of our ship.
So I videoed the whole approach and docking, right up to the point when our liner came to a standstill, which took nearly an hour from start to finish.
Of course, an hour's worth of video from a slow moving ship isn't particularly dynamic, so I sped the whole sequence up many hundreds of time in Adobe Premiere Pro to create this much more engaging time lapse sequence.
