Real time video of waves at La Garita Bufadero on Gran Canaria #1

The story behind this video

Every time my wife Liz and I spend time on Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands we always make a point of driving northwards up the east coast to spend an afternoon at La Garita.

La Garita is an unprepossesing sort of seaside town, largely undeveloped and unvisited by tourists, such as ourselves.

However, the Atlantic coastline around the town is magnificent, and a coastal path allows you to walk alongside the rocky shoreline, including the amazing 'Bufadero'.

Shown in this video, the Bufadero seems to have a life of its own as the ocean rises and falls through a submerged archway into the seething cauldron.

And it's a brave, or foolhardy, tourist that attempts the walk across the mouth of this fascinating feature.
