The rocky volcanic coastline of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands provides some dramatic scenery and wave action as large swells from the Atlantic ocean crash against the shore.
Just the sort of environment that my wife Liz and I love to experience first hand, which is why we spent a good few hours of our winter sun holiday strolling along the coastal path at La Garita on the east coast of the island.
La Garita is a largely undeveloped seaside town, which boasts some of the best coastal features on Gran Canaria, including the mildly famous 'Bufadero' wave cauldron.
And with an onshore breeze blowing clean, warm air over us while waves crashed against the rocks just a few meters away we were very happy just to stroll along and sit at the many benches provided on the promenade.
And with camera and tripod strapped over my shoulder I was able to capture the beauty of the coast in a series of short clips from various lookouts along the path, which have been combined in this video to give an idea of how lovely this part of Gran Canaria is.
I hope La Garita stays undeveloped for many years to come!
