Think of Liverpool and a few iconic cultural treasures spring to mind.
The Beatles, the Mersey ferry and, of course, the famous Liver Building at Pier Head, with the two Liver Bird statues watching over the city, situated right on the River Mersey waterfront.
You may think you need to be actually in Liverpool to get the best view of the Liver Building, but that's not necessarily the case.
My wife Liz and I quite often take the half hour drive from our home in northeast Wales over the english border to the Wirral peninsula, taking in the seaside promenades at West Kirby, Hoylake and New Brighton before heading down the banks of the river Mersey to Seacombe Ferry terminal, home of the historic Mersey Ferry.
But it's not just the ferry that makes Seacombe special, as from here you can look across the river to enjoy a great view of the Liverpool waterfront, including the fabulous Liver Building.
I've taken many time lapse videos from this spot, but on this occasion I decided to zoom right in to the twin Liver Building towers, the Liver Bird sculptures and the clock faces, filming for an hour and a half as the hands on the clocks span around while day turned to night and the lights on the building's facade and the Liver Birds shone ever brighter in the gathering darkness.
