My wife Liz and I are really blessed to live near the north Wales coast, less than an hour's drive away from the many wonderful seaside locations on offer in this amazing part of the world.
And one of our favourites is Llandudno, considered a jewel in the crown of gracious coastal resorts.
Llandudno is quite unique, in that it has two beaches, the more popular and developed facing northeast, and the second, less well known and visited, facing west.
Of the two, we usually end up going for a walk along the quieter West Shore beach and promenade, returning to our car in time to watch the sunset, which is available to view out over the Irish Sea from this location all year round. (Weather permitting, of course!)
So it's no wonder that, whenever the sunset looks like it's going to be interesting or dramatic, I'm out with my camera on the foreshore to capture the action, either with still photographs or, as in this case, a time lapse video.
I especially like it when the sun has some clouds to do battle with, as then we can see sunbeams shooting though gaps in the wrack which show up very well on a time lapse video.
And such was the case this particular evening in the August of 2022, with Liz and I enjoying the lightshow while my camera clicked away capturing the hundreds of still frames required to create just a few seconds of video.
