For lovers of sunsets, such as myself, the North Wales coast offers a multitude of beautiful and dramatic locations from which to enjoy the event over the Irish Sea during the summer months.
But during the winter months the angle of the sunset swings around to the southwest, away from the sea, which makes viewing the sunset from the coast a rather tricky exercise.
Except in one or two choice locations, with my favourite being the West Shore beach at Llandudno.
Unusually for the North Wales coast, this beach faces southwest, looking out over the mouth of the river Conwy estuary along the length of the coastline to the steep, rocky headland at Penmaenmawr and beyond.
Which makes it an ideal spot to watch and film a winter sunset, which is just what my wife Liz and I did on this particular afternoon in January 2024.
A bit of careful positioning along the seafront got us to a spot where the setting sun would slide nicely down the face of the Penmaenmawr headland before finally setting over the low lying Isle of Anglesey along the horizon.
And, having set my camera off to record the hundreds of still images needed to create this time lapse video, we sat back and watched the show as the sun sank lower in the sky, lighting up the passing clouds just above the horizon with golden colours.
Another beautiful sunset video to add to my collection, and a wonderful example of God's wisdom and love, shown in the majesty of His creation.
