There are some great beaches on the North Wales coast, with acres of sand revealed at low tide thanks to the very large tidal range in this part of the world.
Couple that with some lovely old beach architecture, decaying groynes, breakwaters and so on, and you've got a recipe for some wonderful and dynamic views to photograph.
Being north facing, this stretch of coastline is also a perfect spot to catch a summer sunset from, which is why my wife Liz and I often venture out after tea for a trip along the A55 to take in one of our many favourite sunset views.
And here is one of them, the beach and promenade at Llanfairfechan, a quaint seaside resort that time forgot.
With views out over those vast acreages of sand to the coast of Anglesey across the Menai Straits, and with mottled clouds covering the sky, the lighting was just great for shooting this time lapse video as those clouds caught the warm light from the setting sun.
And although the sun remained hidden that evening, nevertheless the vivid colours of dusk glowing thorugh gaps in the clouds near the horizon were just entrancing, and we stayed watching and filming until the colours started to fade before reluctantly heading back home.
No doubt we'll be back again, and the tide, weather and light will all be completely different!
