Surely one of the most beautifully situated lakes in the Snowdonia National Park (now called Eryri) in North Wales, this is Llyn Crafnant, situated in the hills above Trefriw.
My wife Liz and I make a point of walking around the lake in every season of the year, but without doubt our favourite time is autumn.
The lake is surrounded by thickly wooded slopes, and the foliage colours that develop as autumn matures towards winter are just stunning.
The only problem is that it's very rare to get a calm, sunny day in autumn in Snowdonia. (Or anywhere in North Wales for that matter!)
So imagine our delight at being greeted with this sight as we arrived at Llyn Crafnant, with sunlight dappling the golden trees and the surface of the lake acting as a reflecting mirror, thus doubling the beauty on offer.
We spent a very happy hour exploring some of our favourite views, but not before I'd spent half an hour or so hunched over my camera and tripod capturing the still frames needed to create this time lapse video.
After all, weather conditions and scenery like this don't occur very often and you have to make the most of them when they do.
