Driving round northwest Scotland during our two week holiday in October 2022 my wife Liz and I were amazed at just how many beautiful lochs there are in this part of the world.
Each loch seemed to have its own characteristic, some bleak and forbidding, others more open and friendly.
And of course, the weather and light conditions play a great part in the 'feel' of a landscape.
So it was in bright sunshine that we pulled into this viewpoint overlooking the beautiful Loch Loyne, with just a few light clouds grazing the peaks of the mountains on the far shore.
A very friendly feel to the whole scene, but I noticed that those clouds were rapidly building and starting to head our way, so I quickly set up my camera to record this time lapse video of the approaching weather over the loch.
And I wasn't disappointed, as the whole scene changed over the course of twenty minutes from one of a sun kissed, friendly landscape to one of brooding menace.
And that is typical of conditions in Scotland in October! Just wonderful for photogaphy in dramatic and ever changing conditions.
