The famous 'Wild Atlantic Way', running along the west coast of Ireland, doesn't get much more wild than the stretch along the north coast of Loop Head in County Clare.
The loop Head peninsula sticks out into the Atlantic ocean and is the first landfall this side of America, 3,000 miles away.
Hence the weather and sea conditions here can get quite interesting at times, with huge waves battering the dramatic sea cliffs and sending spray hundereds of feet into the air. (Not helpful for camera optics!)
Fortunately for my wife Liz and I, conditions were reasonably benign when we made our annual visit to these parts in the spring of 2022, with only a stiffish breeze making my eyes water as I set up my camera to record the hundreds of still images needed to create this time lapse video of the threatening storm clouds streaming over the rugged coastine.
And I only just made it, as a typical rain started to fall after twenty minuites or so of shooting.
So it was quickly back to the car for a cup of hot coffee and then on to the next stunning view on this amazing coast.
