Not only does the west of Ireland have a dramatic and beautiful Atlantic coastline, this region also boasts some lovely inland loughs as well.
This time lapse video features boats moored along the shore of one such lough, Lough Corrib in County Galway.
My wife Liz and I were taking a lesiurely drive, heading northwards from County Clare, up to see the wonders of Connemara, during our holiday here in the early summer of 2022.
In no particular rush, we took plenty of diversions to see ruined castles and anywhere else on our touring map that looked interesting.
Hence a diversion to the shores of Lough Corrib at Derrymoyle, where we came across this lovely scene of small boats moored in the still waters of a sheltered bay.
It being lunchtime we couldn't think of a nicer spot to stop and have a bite to eat while watching and filming as shower laden clouds drifted over the waters of the lough.
What a wonderful way to spend a day in this most beautiful part of God's creation!
