The Connemara National Park in the west of Ireland is a stunning region of wild coastline and unspoilt landscapes which, coupled with dramatic weather streaming in off the Atlantic ocean, makes Connemara an outdoor photographers' wonderland.
So I was really looking forward to spending a week exploring this amazing country, with my wife Liz, for a week in the early summer of 2022.
And we weren't disappointed, with stunning views around every bend in the road.
The drive north through Connemara to our accomodation took us along the banks of the beautiful Lough Inagh, flanked by the impressive Maumturk mountains, bathed in patches of sunlight and shadow from the Atlantic storm clouds racing by overhead.
Of course, I couldn't just drive past such a view, so we stopped for half an hour to enjoy a cup of coffee while I set up my camera in the eye-watering breeze to capture the hundreds of still images needed to create this time lapse video, showing two views out over the lake and mountains.
And then it was to the next fantastic scene, just around the following corner!
