The Jubilee Tower, that ruined stump of something that was once much grander, sits atop the summit of Moel Famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), right near my home in northeast Wales.
The tower is visible from miles away, and everytime my wife Liz and I spot it on the horizon as we drive along some motorway or other we know we're nearly home.
And of course, the Jubilee Tower makes for a very popular hiking destination for the thousands of locals and visitors that make the forty five minute climb up along the Offa's Dyke path to get there.
Myself included, although normally I prefer climbing at night under a starlit sky.
However, on this occasion it was my goal to shoot this time lapse video of the tower under dramatic skies, as clouds raced across the skies above, casting roving patches of sunlight and shadow over the landscape below.
So once I'd got my breath back after the steep last section of the climb it was out with the camera and tripod and a twenty minute sit down as the camera did its thing, recording the hundreds of still images needed to create just these few seconds of time lapse.
And it was nice to sit and chat with the many other hardy souls who enjoyed the climb and the magnificent views on that lovely afternoon.
