This is the first in a series of five time lapse videos, filmed in the beautiful Mountains of Mourne, Northern Ireland, during a week's holiday with family at Kilkeel, just a ten minute drive from this wonderful location.
This particular video features a sunset through clouds over the wonderful Spelga reservoir, set high in the dramatic mountainous landscape.
This being Ireland, the weather was, of course, mixed to say the least, but I'd much rather be out photographing under lively conditions than under a boring blue or flat grey sky.
So almost every evening of our stay my wife Liz and I would drive up to a viewpoint overlooking the reservoir and spend a happy, if blustery, hour or so watching the play of light as the sun sank down behing the slopes of Slievenamiskan to the west.
I've always been intrigued by the Mountains of Mourne, and I'm so glad I got the chance to be out and photographing in such beautiful surroundings.
