A brief break between weather fronts in early November 2023 was all the incentive my wife Liz and I needed for a quick to the seaside at Prestatyn on the North Wales coast.
Just a gentle forty minute drive from our home, Prestatyn is one of our 'go to' places to get some some bracing seaside air and, hopefully, a photo or two.
Well it was definitely bracing on this particular afternoon, with a brisk breeze blowing shower laden cumulus clouds from west to east along the coast and over the Irish Sea, punctuated with bursts of bright sunlight and the odd rainbow or two for good measure.
The cloudplay was just entrancing to watch, so I took the risk of a good soaking to set up my camera to record the 1,000+ still images needed to create this time lapse video.
With one eye on my camera's rear screen, and one eye on an approaching downpour I kept on filming as the clouds caught the last light of the setting sun, glowing in the warm late afternoon rays.
And I finished up just before the next dollop of rain arrived, just in time forthe drive back home.
