One of my wife Liz's and my favourite places to go for a bracing seaside walk is the promenade at Prestatyn on the north Wales coast.
With great views northwards out over the Irish Sea to the turbines of the offshore Gwynt-y-Môr windfarm, and along the shore to the unmistakeable limestone edifice of the Little Orme to the west, a walk along this well appointed stretch of promenade is a real treat, especially when you arrive at the Beach Hut Cafe for a fish and chip break!
But of course, it isn't just a pleasant walk with my wife that makes the seafront at Prestatyn so attractive to me.
No - the chance to film a dramatic and colourful sunset out over the sea adds enormously to the appeal.
So it was no suprise that, following a stroll carefully timed to bring us back to our car about three quarters of an hour before sunset, I was to be found hunched over my camera and tripod shooting the hundreds of still images needed to create just these few seconds of time lapse video as the sun sank slowly towards the hazy horizon.
And, having drained the last ounce of enjoyment from the day, it was time for the short drive back home, glowing in the pleasure of having witnessed God's clockwork creation in action once again.
No doubt we'll be back again!
