A lovely, quiet and undeveloped spot on the northwestern coast of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands.
This is the view from the promenade at the seaside town and ferry port of Puerto de Las Nieves.
With frothing waves breaking on the rocks at our feet, and a breeze fresh off 3,000 miles of unobstructed Atlantic ocean, just sitting here and breathing fills you with a great sense of wellbeing.
Which is why my wife Liz and I made a point of stopping here for a few hours on one of our exploratory drives around the lesser known parts of Gran Canaria.
Just what we needed after a drive along those twisty mountain roads!
