The atlantic coast of County Galway in the west of Ireland is a landscape photographer's dream.
With dramatic mountains sweeping down to deserted beaches, bathed in clear oceanic light, the risk of sensory overload is high!
This time lapse video gives a typical example of the beautiful scenery my wife Liz and I encountered during the week we spent exploring this wonderful part of God's creation.
This is the beach at Renvyle on the Connemara Loop and part of the famous Wild Atlantic Way that runs for 1,600 miles all along the west coast of Ireland.
We arrived just as the sun was starting to set, casting a lovely warm glow on the slopes of the Maumturk Mountains, crowned with a halo of lenticular cloud.
So it was a no-brainer really, for me to set up my camera and tripod to record the hundreds of still images needed to create just a few seconds of time lapse video, with those lovely clouds swirling over the tops of the mountains as the sun finally set and the grey light of dusk settled over the beach at the end of another day.
