A week long holiday, spent exploring the beautiful scenery along the Antrim coast of Northern Ireland, found my wife Liz and I between the two seaside towns of Portrush and Portballintrae, looking out over the Atantic Ocean to the Skerries Islands just offshore.
Sunset was approaching, and the sky had taken on a magical appearance, with high broken cloud allowing shafts of sunlight to beam down onto the seascape below.
This was far too lovely a scene to pass by, so we pulled into a convenient layby and settled down to enjoy the sunset.
Of course, settling down for me meant getting out my camera, tripod, and all the other necessary gear required to shoot a few hundred images to string together into a time lapse video of the unfolding lightshow.
In the end, the lightshow went on for quite a while, and I ended up shooting in excess of a thousand frames over the course of two hours while we watched as the sun finally dipped below the horizon and it was time to pack up and head back to our holiday flat.
What a wonderful way to spend an evening, marvelling at God's handiwork, which never looks the same twice!
