Early spring 2022 in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, and winter was having its final fling as a blast of cold artic air collided into a moisture laden weather front, dropping a dusting of snow over the slopes and summit of Snowdon and the surrounding ridges of the Snowdon Horseshoe.
As the weather front cleared and the heavy cloud cover gave way to sunlight and showers my wife Liz and I decided to spend the day in Snowdonia, enjoying the beautiful scenery, chiaroscuro lighting and the fresh, clear, newly washed air.
Of course, I was also hoping for some dramatic lighting and weather to shoot a few time lapse videos in this awesome part of the world, just an hour's drive from our home.
And I wasn't disappointed!
This short time lapse video, comprising hundreds of still images blended together, was shot from a layby on the A4086 between Capel Curig and Snowdon, with wonderful cloud action over the mountains while patches of sunlight and shadow danced across the undulating landscape below.
I was in two minds as to whether to leave the road and passing traffic in the frame, but I'm glad I did as the cars racing by add extra interest to the composition.
How blessed I am to live so close to such wonder!
