Where do you take visiting relatives from Harpenden (near London) to see some of the best views in Wales together with the chance of a stunning sunset?
The South Stack cliffs on the Isle of Anglesey of course!
Living in North Wales and being able to visit beautiful places like South Stack whenever the mood and a favourable weather forecast takes us has made my wife Liz and I rather blasé about just how stunning the scenery in this part of the world can be.
So it was quite refreshing to see the looks on the faces of those who live far from such magnificence when they peered over the edge of the 300ft high cliffs for the first time!
And, of course, there's the iconic South Stack lighthouse, perched on its own little island at the base of the cliffs, to complete the scene as the sun dips down towards the western horizon out over the Irish Sea.
Quite an experience for folks from the flatlands of the south of England, and for us locals too!
