Every time my wife Liz and I visit our family over in Limerick in the west of Ireland, we always make a point of spending time exploring the Wild Atlantic Way, that amazing 1,600 mile long route that runs right up Ireland's dramatic west coast.
Westward facing, this coastline is the ideal place to catch a wonderful sunset out over the ocean, and there are a few locations that we've come to know and love over the years that draw us back time and time again.
One such is the small seaside town of Spanish Point, so named due to the wreck of ships from the Spanish Armada just off the coast here.
But what I really like about Spanish Point is the beach, which features a large shelf of textured rock pointing out to sea, towards the setting sun.
During our stay in 2022 we visited Spanish Point once again, for the express purpose of filming this time lapse video of the sunset, choosing the day of our shoot to coincide with a favourable tide, due to reveal my rock shelf as the sun was setting.
And this video is the result, with a lovely sky adding to the sunset and tide, which made watching and filming such a delight.
No doubt we'll be back to visit Spanish Point again next time we're over the water!
