Whenever Liz and I find ourselves in a location we've never explored before, it's out with the maps to have a good look at what places might be interesting to visit.
So during our week long holiday with family at Kilkeel on Northern Ireland's eastern seaboard, we made a special effort to drive north along the coast to see the lighthouse at St John's Point near Downpatrick in County Down.
Now I have a photographic 'thing' for lighthouses, I just can't resist them!
So imagine my joy at seeing the St John's Point lighthouse for the first time, in its distinctive orange and black striped livery.
I'd never come across a lighthouse in similar colours before, so it was out with the camera to capture the tower from all sorts of different angles.
And of course, with the sun playing hide and seek behind high clouds in the skies above, I just had to shoot this time lapse video as well, given the dramatic lighting and very impressive lighthouse.
Well worth a chilly half hour in the blustery coastal breeze to capture such a memory!
