I'll never tire of watching a beautiful sunrise or sunset, as each heralds that miraculous change from night to day and back again as the precise clockwork of God's creation provides for life on earth.
But living in North Wales, with its interesting and varied weather patterns, means that more often than not there's a band of cloud along the horizon which hides the actual sunrise or sunset.
So on those rare occasions when the forecast promises clear skies you'll find my wife Liz and I parked up at one of the many beautiful locations near our home.
Which is just what happened on this particular evening in mid June 2022, as a high pressure system over the UK was keeping those clouds at bay for a few days.
But with a high pressure system, especially one that lasts a little while, comes haze, as dust and moisture levels build up in the still air.
Which is just great for watching and photographing a sunset especially, as the atmospheric particulates filter the shorter wavelenth light from the setting sun, leaving the sky near the horizon glowing a rich red or orange colour.
So Liz and I spent a happy half hour watching and filming out over the Vale of Clwyd on this lovely evening before the sun finally sank into the murk, marking the end of another day.
