Time Lapse of Incoming Tide at Talacre beach, North Wales #5

The story behind this video

Before dawn on the morning of the summer solstice 2022, and I'm taking advantage of the beautiful clear weather to film at one of my favourite North Wales locations, the beach at Talacre.

I'd actually been here since midnight, taking hundreds of still images of noctilucent clouds over the iconic Point of Ayr lighthouse to create my Talacre Noctilucent Timelapse #1 video, which you can watch by clicking the link.

But just after 3am the sky started to lighten with the approaching dawn and the noctilucent clouds vanished like a dream in the night, but there was no way I was stopping filming and going home on such a stunning morning.

By this point in time the incoming tide had just reached the base of the lighthouse, so I quickly relocated myself and all the equipment needed to shoot another time lapse to catch the sea surrounding the lighthouse and covering the beach.

With the tide moving quickly it only took just over half an hour for the water to reach my tripod legs, but that gave me enough time to shoot the few hundred still images needed to create this lovely time lapse video of the tide and lighthouse set against the glowing orange/blue twilight sky.

And then it was yet another relocation to shoot the approaching sunrise, but that's another story!
