The lake of Tarn Hows and the surrounding countryside really are one of the jewels in the crown of England's Lake District.
Run by the National Trust, this lake is partly man-made, having been two seperate smaller lakes in times past.
My wife Liz and I made a special effort to visit Tarn Hows during our week long break in the Lake District during the spring of 2023, and having been here previously on a very damp autumn day it was great to be able to walk around in actual sunshine for once.
The walk around took us most of the afternoon, with multiple stops for photography and snacks, including this opportunity for shooting hundreds of still images to create this lapse video, taken from a viewpoint overlooking the lake with dramatic mountains as a backdrop and patches of sunlight and shadow playing across the landscape.
