What could be nicer on a February evening than sitting on your balcony in the warmth, watching the glowing colours of dusk hang in the sky over the rolling ocean?
Which is just what my wife Liz and I did on numerous evenings during our two week stay on Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands.
We were based at Taurito, a busy seaside resort on the south coast of the island, with a lovely view of the sunset out over the Atlantic ocean from our balcony.
Also included in the view were the brightly lit resort hotels on the far side of the gorge, so I decided to combine the two elements, natural and man-made, in this composition, allowing the natural glow of twilight to be slowly overtaken by the warm artifical lighting of the built environment as darkness fell.
