Another evening spent sitting on a balcony overlooking the Atlantic ocean at Taurito on the south coast of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands.
My wife Liz and I were making the most of our two week winter sun break in February 2024, spending the days driving around the remote mountain roads before returning to our apartment for an evening meal and to enjoy the sunset.
And every sunset was different, with a variety of cloud an light effects out over the ocean to enjoy.
On this particular evening the sunset didn't happen, with the skies above being quite overcast, but the real beauty occured just after sunset, as those clouds were lit from below by the vivid sunrays, beaming up from just below the horizon.
So we watched and filmed as the lighshow played itself out, gradually fading to night as the lights of the resort hotels across the gorge from us grew in strength to dominate the scene.
What a lovely way to spend an hour!
