It's lashing down with rain and blowing a gale here in North Wales as I write this, reliving happy memories of a much warmer climate during our holiday on Gran Canaria during February 2024.
I remember waking up with the dawn, strolling outside onto the balcony of our apartment, dressed nothing but sleeping shorts, and watching the rising sun paint a growing band of light over the volcanic cliffs and resort hotels on the far side of the Taurito gorge.
Of course, the arrival of light was far too interesting to just watch, so I had my faithful camera and tripod set up alongside me, clicking away every four seconds to record the 2,000+ still images I needed to create this time lapse video, while my wife Liz arrived for breakfast and to enjoy the spectacle as well.
