One thing I love about holidays by the seaside is the opportunity to film time lapse videos of the sunset or sunrise over the water, depending on which way you're facing, of course.
So I was very pleased to be spending a couple of weeks in an apartment with a balcony at Taurito on the south coast of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands, looking southwest out over the Atlantic ocean.
My wife Liz and I were enjoying some winter sun and warmth in February 2024 at a resort that we'd stayed at before, so I knew that the sunset would be nicely viewable from our balcony at this time of the year.
And so it proved to be.
However, the skies over the Atlantic ocean were anything but clear for most of our stay, filled with dust from the Sahara desert, borne across to the Canary Islands on a 'Calima' wind.
So the video shown here was shot on one of the few evenings with a clear sky, treating us to a lovely sunset right down to the horizon, far to the southwest out over the ocean.
What a wonderful way to close out an altogether fantastic day, watching and filming God's marvellous creation putting on show!
