I love a sunset, and as every sunset is different I can enjoy watching this phenomenon from the same spot time after time.
And it's especially nice when that 'same spot' is the balcony of your holiday apartment, overlooking the Atlantic ocean on a warm evening in February at Taurito on Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands, just off the coast of Africa.
This particular sunset was pretty spectacular, with broken clouds stretched out across the heavens catching golden light as the sun dipped towards the horizon.
And the enjoyment didn't end as the sun disappeared below the horizon, as gaps in the clouds allowed rays to escape and light up the clouds with a red glow for a short period before the sky finally lost colour.
But then, as the natural twilight faded away, the artifical lights of the resort hotels across the gorge from us came into their own, adding yet another element to the evening's pleasure.
So I kept on taking still images to create this time lapse video until the sky had turned pretty much black.
All in all, an hour and a half's filming while Liz and I sat in the warm air eating our tea and having a cup of coffee together.
Just how much enjoyment can you cram into one evening?!
