Of all the beautiful lakes in England's Lake District, Ullswater has to be one of my wife Liz's and my favourites.
With the picturesque village of Pooley Bridege at the northern end - very handy for a cup of tea, scone and a trip to the loo, and the magnificent peaks around Helvellyn at the southern end, Ullswater has something for everyone.
Including watersports enthusiasts it seems, as I set up my camera to record the hundreds of still images needed to create this time lapse video, ostensibly of the clouds streamimng over the lake and mountains.
But the original purpose of this time lapse shoot soon gave way to recording the antics of a pair of paddleboarders enjoying themselves in the shallow waters of the small bay where Liz and I were filming.
I didn't mind this change of subject matter at all, as the clouds weren't particularly inspiring during the twenty minutes or so I was taking images, and we had a good chat and a laugh with the paddleboarders as they made their hesitant way in circles in front of my camera!
In the end we returned to this same spot later in the day, sans paddleboarders but with much more interesting clouds, and I shot a second time lapse sequence here.
But that's another story.
