A beautiful spring morning in March 2022 gave me the perfect opportunity to head to one of my local beauty spots for a spot of photography.
But which one? As here in North Wales there are just so many to choose from!
However, with nicely defined cumulus clouds drifting by overhead I quickly decided to head for the slopes of Moel Famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), with stunning views out over the magnificent Vale of Clwyd to the snow covered mountains of Snowdonia in the far distance.
When I arrived at the viewpoint I was greeted by the sight of a chiaroscuro dance of sunlight and shadow across the landscape below me as those lovely clouds moved across the sky in a stately procession overhead.
So shooting a time lapse video of what I was witnessing in front of me was a 'no brainer', and I quickly set up my camera and tripod to capture the hundreds of still images needed to create just a few seconds of time lapse.
It's funny, but whenever I stand next to my camera and tripod, clicking away every couple of seconds or so, I inevitably draw the attention of other passing photographers who stop and ask me what I'm up to, and such was the case on this particular shoot.
So I spent a very pleasant hour chatting away and enjoying the play of light until I'd captured enough frames and it was time to pack everything away and head home to download those images and start work on the processing.
What a lovely way to spend a morning!
