The last supermoon of 2022, the 'Sturgeon supermoon' was due to set in the west on the morning of the 12th August.
And thanks to a long lived area of high pressure over the UK the skies over North Wales were clear of the usual clouds.
So it was an early start for me as I made the short drive up to a great sunset and moonset vantage point at the foot of Moel Famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Overlooking the market town of Ruthin in the low lying Vale of Clwyd, with the mountains of Snowdonia in the far distance, this is a fantastic spot to just sit and watch the beauty of God's creation unfolding before you.
But, of course, as well as admiring the scenery and the large, bright supermoon as it sank towards the horizon, I was there to shoot the hundreds of still images needed to create this time lapse video.
After all, opportunities like this don't come around too often, so you have to make the most of them, don't you?
