A stunning afternoon with rare clear skies over northeast Wales was all the reason my wife Liz and I needed to head to one of our many local beauty spots to watch the sunset.
At this time of year, February, with the sun setting to the southwest, one of the best viewing spots is on the slopes of Moel famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Looking west out over the beautiful Vale of Clwyd, I noticed that the sun was going to hit the horizon right next to a group of onshore wind turbines.
So I set up my camera wth the turbines in shot and waited for the sun to appear in the frame, hoping that the sky would stay clear and the sun would set clearly behind the silhouettes of the turbines.
In the end I wasn't disappointed, with a colourful and dramatic sunset right to the horizon.
I'm glad we made the effort, as usually the horizons in north Wales are quite cloudy, and I don't know when we might see such a clear sky sunset again.
