When we're not exploring the beauties of the North Wales coast and countryside, my wife Liz and I often take a drive up to West Kirby, over the border on the Wirral peninsula in England, to enjoy a bracing stroll around the seawall and promenade of the Marine Lake.
We'd just completed a circumnavigation of the lake in the spring of 2022 when a stiff breeze started blowing and fast moving clouds arrived overhead, signalling the approach of a cold weather front.
Now these 'edge events', such as weather fronts, sunrise, sunset, the changing of the seasons and so on, are meat and drink to me as an outdoor photographer, so I wasted no time in setting up my camera (always with me in the car) and tripod to record the few hundred still images of the cloud patterns, need to create just a few seconds of time lapse video, before the front arrived with its attendant downpour.
And then it was time for drive back home in time for tea, having exercised both my legs and my creativity.
A double blessing!
