If any picture can encapsulate the west coast of Ireland then this one, shot at the beach at Castlegregory on the Dingle Peninsula, comes close.
Castlegregory is one of those glorious Irish beaches that seem to go on forever, but are almost completely deserted most of the time.
This could be something to do with the weather, which can get extremely active as fronts roll in one after the other all the way across the Atlantic ocean from Iceland.
That's what was happening on the day this photo was taken, with rain and sun alternating in a crazy weather dance.
If you want to spend a day soaking up the sun then maybe this part of the world isn't for you, but, if like me, you love seeing and photographing dramatic skies and stunning scenery then you've just got to come here.
